Nexingen (from Latin nexus – connection; ingeniōsus - clever, intelligent, inventive) is a fancy name for what’s essentially a nerd blog. I’m aiming to make a space where intelligent ideas meet intelligent people. You can expect science (with some personal opinions), history, philosophy, psychology, and whatever else keeps me up till 2am. Oh I’ll also try to be fun and funny, but you be the judge of how well that goes. Mostly, I just wanted a space to yap about ideas and discoveries I find cool, and see what other people think of them. Maybe this time I’ll hear something other than “Who cares?” So, if that sounds like your flavor of weird, stick around. Read a post. Drop a comment. Euralēthia (pronounced yoo-rah-LEE-thee-uh with th as in “think” not “this”) is a name I made up combining two Ancient Greek words: heurētēs, meaning a discoverer or revealer, and alētheia, meaning truth. Basically means “the revealer of truth”. I know, incredibly pretentious! But you gotta admit it sounds pretty cool, and I like the idea of sharing knowledge with others.

Now you might be thinking “But what even is “truth” and “knowledge” and who’s to say you have it?” and to that I say: I think you and I will get along great! Of course, I’m not claiming to have all the answers and I’m always open to being corrected. So, if you see any mistakes, please let me know! The road to truth is paved with many failures, but in the end, I think we can still discover something meaningful about the world through thoughtful discussions.

Now who am I?

Well, if the use of a pseudonym doesn’t give it away, I’m a fairly private person who doesn’t like others knowing too much about me. Never wanted to be famous, but always wanted my works to be influential. Now, that’s quite a struggle to achieve. Honestly, I’m nothing special. Just a chill woman in her 20s, finishing up her B.S. in biology (finishing up my BS indeed). I’ve been writing since I was a kid and even won a few writing awards growing up (nothing too fancy though). As I got older, I became more and more interested in intellectual topics, but I’ve always found it difficult to talk to people about them. I guess most folks just aren’t into it. So here I am, just yelling my thoughts into the void and hoping someone yells back. Whether you find this interesting, funny, or maybe even learn something new, thanks for being a part of this adventure.
